And I guess my follow-up question for anyone who actually does think this: to what end? Like... why would they do that? There's really no politically-related reason they'd do that. I'm pretty sure that if he died, we'd hear about it that day.

Also, to the many people responding who are saying things about how if he's unable to perform the duties of a senator, yadda yadda, etc., he needs to be replaced: that's not how the rules of the senate go. He could be in a coma from now until the end of his term, and it's still his seat.
