Why has Anthropic boss Dario Amodei called for a halt in AI development? I suspect he's hit his human limits. He is in a blind funk, and he may not be alone. In other words, he literally has no idea what to do. He founded Anthropic, but nothing prepared him for what it has become. He is supposedly a guru, but he is also a human being. Put the two together, and at the moment, the human being is showing. He may be right. AI may need to stop for a moment, or longer. But if it does, there is something else to consider: that tips the US into recession very rapidly.
