I'm thinking my last book will be "The First Contact" and am torn between Three-Body Problem and Half Built Garden...
Or should I let a Weir through - Project Hail Mary fits...
What do people think?
(I am writing this up more completely as a blog post)

@penwing@wandering.shop for Time Travel, I would be inclined to go with, say, The First 15 Lives of Harry August. The "time travel" is unconventional, but it's written arguably for a less genre-involved audience, and it does address many of the sub-genre's concerns. For First Contact, even though it is "from the other side", if it doesn't have to be a novel , I might pick Iain Banks' The State of the Art. Like a lot of First Contact stories, it's *really* about humanity. (Or, left field, Nnedi Okorafor's Lagoon?)
