@MikeFromLFE@cupoftea.social I watched the first broadcast, the Stones headlining . a few weeks later it was Sony and Cher. watched for years but eventually stopped. 2006 I was at a freinds when it came on towards the end of it's run. While the opening credits were running I tried to remember why I stopped watching. Then the headline acts were announced, the Stones and Cher and I remembered. Stopped watching cos they had the same artists on every week.

@ravensrod@mstdn.social You sometimes get to experience this on the Friday evening BBC4 reruns, except there's not a week's separation, the episodes are sequential. You also get to appreciate the lows of popular music as the decades roll by. Yesterday was a prime example - an hour from 2000 which was (apparently) grim, and a fabulous 30 minutes from 1979.
