Several hours of troubleshooting after work to discover that I was trying to run a board that expects to have 5V on 3.3V, just so it can run it through a 3.3V LDO regulator.

@ryanc@infosec.exchange pretty common thing to do actually. My latest board does the same. Reason is, I want to be able to run it from USB power

@ryanc@infosec.exchange At least it wasn’t “12V on a board that expected 5V”, which I accidentally did a long time ago by hooking to the wrong pin on a power supply. Hot electronics smell and a small amount of magic smoke later, and it didn’t work quite right anymore.
