I’ve occasionally griped that some albums deserve to be higher on the Rolling Stone list than they are, but 𝗔𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘅𝗮𝘀 by #Santana certainly deserves to be higher than #207. I love this album, wholly and unconditionally. It’s more than just an album, it’s a result of love and dedication and is truly a work of art. The music on this album is beautifully layered, wonderfully produced, and (although I realize this is a dichotomy of words) intensely joyful. #music (cont)

To avoid bandying around a slew of positive adjectives 𝘢𝘥 𝘪𝘯𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘶𝘮, I thought I’d throw out a few bits of trivia about 𝘈𝘣𝘳𝘢𝘹𝘢𝘴 instead. “Oye Como Va” was a 1960 hit by Tito Puente (famously accused of murdering a corrupt nuclear power plant executive in the 1995 Simpsons episode “Who Shot Mr. Burns”). According to his son, Puente wasn’t originally a fan of the cover, but then the royalties started coming in from the 5x platinum album. “He didn’t complain after that” is the quote. (cont)
