@Tatjna@moo.nz I think the most chilling stuff is later in the piece. "30 per cent of the world’s helium supply: gone. 30 to 50 per cent of fertiliser: gone. Half the planet’s industrial sulphuric acid: gone. Not “supply disrupted.” Not “temporarily off market.” Gone. Blown to fuck by Israeli and American strikes on Iranian processing infrastructure that the Pentagon either didn’t know existed or didn’t care about." I expected bad, this is worse.

@chopsstephens@mastodon.nzoss.nz I knew about it because of being on the land and getting regular updates about it from Ravensdown. We put fert on this year at an elevated cost because we don't know when we'll be able to do it again, either price or availability wise. Meanwhile, we're exploring options for other forms of soil fertility maintenance. Because yeah, thanks America. Not.

@chopsstephens@mastodon.nzoss.nz @Tatjna@moo.nz right about now folks start realising the market doesn't _make_ anything, it just prices stuff...

@chopsstephens@mastodon.nzoss.nz What does that mean for production and/or our daily lives? What kind of (industrial) products does it affect, now and in the long term? @Tatjna@moo.nz
