@argv_minus_one@mastodon.sdf.org I think #NetBSD's stance is better it not just avoid AI LLM code but also any means of copy paste from other places or any means which can taint Base operating system.

@jaypatelani@bsd.network Copyright issues are not the only reason to avoid using AI, and as soon as courts rule those copyright issues out of existence (which you know they will—courts are loath to inconvenience moneyed interests), this policy implies that NetBSD will begin allowing AI-generated code. Nothing classic about that, and the only thing about that that's predictable is the collapse of the project from being filled with vast volumes of low-quality code.
