@nixCraft@mastodon.social Addendum: I am not even going to get into comment discussions if any come arguing technicalities about medical triage or mosquito nets preventing malaria. THE MOST IMPORTANT PROBLEM IS THAT LLMS CANNOT DELIVER WORK AT A INDUSTRIALREVOLUTIONARY SCALE. Sure they can compose an email or two, but there is a lot of evidence AGAINST the future advancements delivering on the bigger promises. They are only saying this to beguile stock investors! It's just a rigged Pascal's wager of bullshit!

@elrohir@mastodon.gal @nixCraft@mastodon.social Yeah, that's quite frustrating. Something i personally am really furious about is how journalism won't pick up and report on that (there are exceptions, yes, but not many).

@elrohir@mastodon.gal @nixCraft@mastodon.social Has something happened that means the mastofeed is all Zizian today? Is it yet another billionaire techbro claiming the most effective altruist he can be is a cryptocurrency zillionaire so he can bring about a genius AI basilisk that will solve all our problems? Living in the future isn't remotely what I expected.

@elrohir@mastodon.gal @nixCraft@mastodon.social exactly this! People ask me what i think about LLMs and if i only go slightly in this perfectly fine documented direction, i am suddenly the lunatic instead of the longtermism death cult bros. Can't even properly describe what that makes me feel.
