Skill is acquired with use over time. LLMs can be scalpels, but they’re currently being used as sledgehammers. Wielded in the right hands, they can appear to work magic, but they haven’t been available long enough for anyone to legitimately claim meaningful competence. And none of it can possess or present comprehension, which for me is a requirement for intelligence.
