@gsuberland@chaos.social long term the plan is to allow digital phosphor persistence and run the waveform loop async to the monitor and just do a buffer swap whenever the next monitor vsync event shows up, with the waveform loop and filter graph potentially running at kHz. But right now it's strict waterfall model - data comes from the scope and goes into a FIFO asynchronously but then we pop one and only one waveform from that fifo, run the filter graph on it, and render it before popping another
