#scifi author Ben Bova has a couple of books with protagonist Dan Randolph the space entrepreneur who is an absolutely sexist pig and in the first book I read it was irritating but didn't entirely block out the story. In the next book I just started yesterday called Privateers, in which Randolph becomes a space pirate after Russia basically takes over the world and all space activities, the sexist, womanizing shit has just been monumentally intolerable in the first few chapters. I think I'm going to just stop this one and leave the rest unread. Usually I'll go ahead and finish a not too great book but this is just intolerable and even disgusting. Did Ben Bova mean for it to be this way? Is this a reflection of Ben Bova??? Awful. #scifi #bookstodon
