Most posts about #running are about how great a run was, a race, a plan, or an achievement accomplished. I think we need more "I hated it, I bombed, I skipped it, I can't do it, and I failed" posts. :) That would be more the story of my decades of running. :)

  • @MarvinFreeman@mastodon.online I took the last four months off thanks to a combination of extreme Winter and stress, and every missed week made it easier to miss another week. And another. Didn't even use the treadmill. Finally got out there on Monday and pushed through a "not as easy as it should have been" run.

@MarvinFreeman@mastodon.online couldn't agree more, he thinks while sidelined for overuse injures (when I felt like I wasn't overusing anything...) 🙃 Now I'm working on PT to strengthen my core and "weak pelvic girdle" 🪦 before I make my 874th triumphant return to #running It can be a slog sometimes. Bad runs, injury setbacks, unsteady motivation. We do need to talk about it more, make it more visible and accepted.

@MarvinFreeman@mastodon.online Runners don’t wave or nod at each other the way cyclists do. Makes it feel lonely sometimes!

@MarvinFreeman@mastodon.online agreed. I had to stop running because I can't fit it in with parental responsibilities right now. I hear stories about how a single mom is training for a marathon and while inspiring, I'm jealous of the support network that enables the training schedule. Logistics be hurdles too.

@MarvinFreeman@mastodon.online well I bombed today went too hard at the start and walked most of the last 2k, because I didn't fuel/drink correctly, is that a good enough fail? ;)
