Good engineer manager day. Four years ago I hired an engineer. She said her goal was to work for a while as a developer, then become a Tech Lead and eventually become an engineering manager. We've executed on that plan and as of today she is no longer my report but my peer. And I could not be any prouder.

Also bittersweet because she's going to head up another team, and it's going to be pretty disruptive to the team she's leaving, but we'll get by.
