The selective environmentalism of hotels will never cease to amaze me. They’ll go to great lengths to make you feel terrible about wanting a clean towel, or aggressively lecture you with little notes about the environmental impact of cleaning scattered around a hotel. You’d think they’d scold you for fucking FLYING halfway across the planet to get there in the first place!? But no, somehow their concern always ends just there?

@anderseknert Around the turn of the year I saw next-level environmental hypocrisy while staying at the Westin Bayshore in Vancouver. They had signs up in guest rooms saying how they were saving the environment by no longer providing complementary single-use plastic water bottles for guests... while still SELLING single-use plastic water bottles to guests at multiple places in the hotel. This might be the most transparent and insulting greenwashing I have seen so far.

@anderseknert the towels thing is entirely economic. We're all going to hell in a handcart.
