I've been reading the book Service Model by Adrian Tchaikovsky and as a parable about outcomes of the perilous precipice on which we stand regarding autonomous robotics, it does a bang up job. Watching a perfect storm gather steam in real time and then reading a plausible cautionary tale is interesting, slightly disturbing, certainly thought provoking. We have a military amok, government dysfunction, crazed technocrats, ego, greed, all thrown into a mix of someone playing chicken with our future
