We got two new colonies - a rescue of sorts - the former beekeeper unfortunately developed an allergy and had to part ways with them. So, now we have five colonies in our suburban yard - it’s gonna get busy this this summer!
We name our colonies by the colors of their hives. The color choices are part aesthetic and part practical - with some consideration to bee color perception. And so yellow and pink will be joining green, blue and purple.

It’s still a bit too cold for inspections and a proper introduction will have to wait. In the meantime I’m preparing their new accommodations. #beekeeping #yellow #pink
