my logical brain: i can buy 2x6 timbers and cut them into thirds and get 2x2s minus the blade kerf.

@misternineham heck, you could use a blade with 3/8 kerf and you’d still be officially oversized

@misternineham I mean it would be close because the other 2 is also 1.5 anyway so they would be pretty close. I've cut a 2x6 and they are usually under a lot of tension especially pressure treated so they might be even less straight than before cutting.
