@bettina@mastodon.nu no you won't be able to read your Kindle books unless you remove drm from them. Which is nearly impossible as Amazon doesn't allow exporting ebooks to computer anymore.

@itsfoss@mastodon.social @bettina@mastodon.nu Some time ago (1 year maybe) I exported/downloaded my whole Amazon Library with Calibre. Removed the DRM with Calibre Plugins too. Since then I never bought from Amazon again so I can not say for sure if this still works. Since then I only used other eBook shops. This whole licence model is a pain. Not just eBooks but games as well.

@itsfoss@mastodon.social @bettina@mastodon.nu I used to export books from my old Kindle mk 2 using just a USB lead. Obviously that doesn't deDRM them. Calibre can, I believe, do both, but it's been a few years since I used it. Might be worth looking into?
