Even though #Covid is airborne, I figure better safe than sorry when I have to interact with people while contagious, so I asked the #Walgreens pharmacist at the drive through if he could sell me hand sanitizer, but he said they couldn't fetch it for me. I decided to run in (masked) to get some. Turns out they keep it in the very back of the store, under lock and key, so I needed to stand around waiting (with Covid) while someone came FROM THE PHARMACY WHERE I HAD JUST ASKED THEM TO FETCH IT to unlock it and hand-carry the bottles to the register so I could buy it. We live in a Kafkaesque nightmare. #CovidIsNotOver #HealthcareDystopia

@mikemccaffrey@neurodifferent.me Stores are so fucked these days I've gotten to the point where if I need to buy something from one of these places that keep shit in locked cases, I'll order ahead for pickup... but even that can take stupid amounts of waiting around. At least some of them offer curbside pickup, and you can just write a note and hold it up to the window asking them to leave it next to the car due to wanting to avoid exposing them to covid. Of course, this also means waiting in the car for them to prep your order if you're already there and dealing with bullshit like a pharmacist not being allowed to step out onto the floor for a minute to grab one thing, and some of these places can have crazy long wait times for preparing your order. >.<
