@Orb2069 @anthracite @cstross one of the kids at our surflifesaving club had to call an ambulance when a friend of theirs degloved a couple of fingers they trapped in a fence they climbed over. They were early teens at the time.

@Orb2069 @anthracite @cstross One of the drawbacks of having a hungry mind from childhood is that I know far too many things that I wish I didn't. Things like the Guinea Worm (the snake on the Rod of Asclepius), what is "draw and quartering" (which allowed me to identify a gutting hook), what is the basic task of triage, what is LD50, that sort of thing.
