@jacqui76@mastodon.ie Mahmood says that making life harder for asylum seekers will "reduce racism". Absolute tosh, racists will be emboldened by the institutionalised dehumanisation of minorities. I'm recently returned to the UK after more than two decades away. I know the psychological toll of being "other" - and I'm not in a targeted demographic. There is no need to turn up the heat further, this is just performative cruelty. I don't feel represented by Westminster, I'm glad I have real alternatives to vote for next year in the Scottish parliament elections.
