@emmetoneill@mas.to I think both can go in parallel. Often the tech needed for rockets ends up helping people on ground. So both side should be encouraged.

@emmetoneill@mas.to hello from country with (almost) free healthcare and education. People here are not impressed and lot of them vote for far right... So whatever the trick is, it is not easy to impress people. And to be fair, the majority don't care much about rockets. It is marginal, traditional interest of nerd community. People prefere fiction over real life stories, especially if they don't have skills to participate.

Those nasty Irans and Venezuelana looked at us funny, so we had spend 2 billion dollars a day and send them all of our missile stockpile. Going take us years and hundreds of billions to build those back up. Then we got to pay all our debt back. And keep Hegseth topped up with steak and lobster. Once all that is done, maybe we can have a look at giving my mates some contracts for Healthcare, education, childcare and affordable housing. Anyway, got to go, my peace gang is flushing Cubas head down the toilet.
