@emmetoneill@mas.to I think both can go in parallel. Often the tech needed for rockets ends up helping people on ground. So both side should be encouraged.

America already landed people on the moon almost 60 years ago, and we've launched plenty of rockets and satellites since. (We've made plenty of ICBMs with this tech too.) But we still haven't met the needs of our people. ~10% of Americans have no healthcare. We're told "it can't be done". I'm not against science or space exploration, but we don't really need to go *back* to the moon to solve the problems that we face here on Earth.
