@avilewis To Avi, Ilana and Jenny Lewis, Michelle Landsberg, all your kith and kin; Sincere, deep condolences on the passing of your father, the great orator, leader, diplomat and statesman Stephen Lewis. His memory will always be a blessing to Canadians and the world. For me personally, it begins with him giving the address at my undergraduate graduation at McMaster U. I'd never felt so inspired to do good. Then I would listen to him debate Conservative pundit Dalton Camp and a liberal (I forget the name) on CBC Morningside. Much later, I ended up working on HIV and GBV projects and his work in Africa was again personally inspirational. When I think of what it means to be NDP, it is Stephen Lewis who I think of. I count having lived in the world simultaneously with such a dedicated giant of a man a blessing. Allow all of us who respected him the honour of sharing a portion of your grief. ברוך שופט האמת
