Dear Lord.
I run into this with older people as well.
I don't think it's even deliberate maliciousness on their part for the most. They've had a mind virus inserted through media and programming and peer consensus. It's not different from Christians spouting "God's chosen people" or vaxxers and their "trust the science."
I understand how it happens. I cannot forgive them for being so lazy they can't be bothered to look around and see the truth. And all the more so for how they sabotage us and those around them.

I literally pointed them to basic open-source market statistics they could see on any real estate site, and they flat-out denied it...telling me it was all fake, and there 'to trick gullible young folks into paying more than what the homes are really worth'! I replied with "You know what? You're totally right. I am glad you are beginning to see what your generation's wealth is actually funded by!"
