I truly enjoyed “A Song for a New Day” by Sarah Pinsker (@sarahpinsker), more than anything else I've read for a long time. The setup might *sound* a little clichéd—a future in which live concerts are outlawed—but it's anything but that. I would call it a rock-and-roll “Station Eleven” or a musical take on “Fahrenheit 451”—maybe an upbeat echo of Ling Ma’s “Severance” but any of those would be too trite. It's a warm, elegiac, hopeful book about creativity and people standing up in difficult times.
