@rubenerd@bsd.network @kfdm@social.tsun.co I have read what people have written about Tolkien and about his works and everything that they seem to think seems an awful reach. I was nearly an adult when I discovered Tolkien and I had kids of my own by the time Harry Potter published. Tolkien was a language nerd and I kind of identify with that. I even liked Rowling until we found out who she was. But I've never had a problem confusing an author with their works or an actor with their character.
