I keep seeing the "not a technical problem" meme. Does "technical" mean "not social"? Or does "technical" mean that *someone technical* has to manage it? I don't see any technology that isn't social in a number of ways. But tech can look bad in a lot of ways too. It can look inanimate, like an unfeeling object. It can look like an unacceptable compromise regarding the externalities of the businesses that make it possible. It can look disingenuous, like the marketing that sells it to you. #tech
