Agent Krasnov said twice today that he was meeting Putin in Russia. He is meeting Putin in Alaska, a territory that many Russians believe is still theirs as it was sold in 1867 in a "bad" deal.

  • @MeanwhileinCanada@ohai.social If Putin starts talking about taking back Alaska, the people of Alaska should vote to join Canada.

@MeanwhileinCanada@ohai.social @cruiser@expressional.social I’m fine with Trump swapping Alaska for the illegally occupied territories of Ukraine.

@MeanwhileinCanada@ohai.social Fun bit of history trivia! When Russia sold Alaska to the USA there were about 300 Russians in the entire area. There were about 600 British/Canadians in the same territory at that time, and the UK had a prior claim to the region. (The UK would later drop their dispute of the claim in exchange for a couple sugar-producing Carribean islands they swiftly lost.)
