1/ got a few days on Pacific Crest Trail section D northbound from Wrightwood home to Agua Dulce. 92-ish miles across the San Gabriel mountains, daily 30s. Been across this section many times both ways all seasons with and without a sleep system. Familiarity delivers novelty in the form of change. The differences increase each time. Wanted to check snow on the high peaks (melting), look for any early thru hikers (none), and scout issues for my trail crew (lots). Great trip!

2/ went up Acorn trail from Wrightwood late Tuesday night so I could already be up on PCT in the morning and get an early start for day one. Hope for the day was to get up and over Mt Baden Powell and past all the snow before dark. Nice morning color with great views of Iron and Pine mountains.
