Last summer I collected ~40 signatures for a safer crosswalk in my neighborhood (my city only required 5 signatures) and photographed sightlines. Drivers speed through there and the crosswalk is nearly invisible. Three months later after doing a traffic count, they put up a yellow warning sign. This is considered progress, even though it’s not real safety. No stop signs, no speed bumps. Nothing to inconvenience drivers.
I understand this dad’s frustration.
