So @rmi makes a remark about LoRA wan... and i've spent all afternoon thinking about making teeny weenie folded dipoles and quarter waves made directly on an SMA plug with a weenie ground plane soldered on ...

@yakmoose@cloudisland.nz @rmi@cloudisland.nz I've come to the conclusion that lora cares amazingly little about antenna quality and you can get away with some very rudimentary stuff. I'm about to send off a job for 250 lora based trap monitors to the fab using a dead simple PCB trace antenna that's proven on par with a bunch of external quarter wave, ground planes and some others... Black magic, to me anyway
