Just spent the better part of an hour wrestling with a Black Friday laptop (not mine.) It showed up with Windows 11 Home S. Getting it out of S and into a local account is quite a nuisance. Edit the registry from Recovery Mode, turn off Secure Boot, rename the Policy File, run a command from Task Manager. Finally got it out of S, configured with a local account, and Secure Boot back on. It took a few tries as the first few recommendations did not work.
