RE: https://mastodon.social/@Tuxdoctor/116247694950954874 I see this effort as a perfect successor to the postmarketOS wiki tables, which relied on manually filled support levels. It enables tracking across all distributions, different kernel versions, and patchsets. It’s simple: you run a diagnostics app, and at the end, you can upload the results for everyone to see. #MobileLinux #LinuxMobile #Linux #Kernel #MainlineLinux #Mobian #NixOS #postmarketOS

@okias "perfect" is a bit of an overstatement - I always felt the old tables were lacking mostly a curated perspective (what are the deficiencies in support for a given device) that an automated check isn't going to be able to provide but this does look like an improvement because it will give some concrete metric at least

@okias Thanks! Glad to see it send the right message: up to date state of your favorite penguin in your pocket without asking again the same question if this feature is working on this version.

@okias The flow is designed to be simple: 1. Pick TuxDoctor flavor - QT, GTK or CLI 2. install in your OS (`apt-get` , `apk add` or `nix shell`) 3. Click the Run All tests 4. Review the Test Result about the summary and check details for tests 5. Decide if you want to upload the results to database (git repo), filters personal identifiers 6. Check the TuxDoctor Checks page for troubleshooting or state of feature that Failed
