@_r@donotsta.re they dont do that because you'd have to make a really fucked up signature system for posts otherwise you would be able to fake posts really easily
it's possible but enough of a bitch that it's not worth the technical debt

@_r@donotsta.re also the fact that nobody on this protocol is capable of agreeing on anything ever, mastodon just does whatever it wants and everyone usually follows
