@sendpaws If I understand that correctly, does that mean that new router models not produced in the US don't pass FCC rules and cannot be sold?

@sendpaws At least Turris could be fine since they technically don't primarily sell consumer routers. They are routers for small businesses all the way to big enterprises.

@phnt It's like the "drone ban" or the California "Gun Register", where it acts as a soft ban in which models that aren't grandfathered can't be sold. Unless of course; you get an exemption. So the router you have is fine and so are the ones Wal-Mart sells; but any new models have to be approved by the FCC. The drone ban hasn't gone so well because the dji competitors are the kind of companies that overcharge, make it a bitch to buy their products (buying from Made In America companies can be like trying to buy an Elbrus CPU), and lobby for dji bans. So your garbage ass ISP router might be fine and so would Netgear if they can pay off the right people, but the government's been trying to target TP-Link lately.
