I'm coordinating with some of my friends who were laid off alongside me to do a round-robin style yardwork crew where we all work together on someone's yard.

I think it's something to do with our unusually strong social bonds (for a corporate workplace) and the terrible economic climate we've found ourselves in, but there's a real sense of communism among the bunch of us who were laid off. Everyone immediately went into support mode for each other in a big way. It's honestly intoxicating.
