It continues to bother me how pro-AI Animation Magazine keeps sounding. I dont know what is in the staff's hearts. But there's been uncritical articles. Or they've reported positively about #LLM involvment in projects. Dont remember one about anim jobs at risk. And with the news of Disney canceling their OpenAI deal, there was a sadness in their article. And call for google to make an offer. I'm greatful for what else the mag does for the #Animation world. But this is uncomfortable. #NoAI

So I found an article on Cartoon Brew about the Disney/Sora thing. That feels much more balanced. https://www.cartoonbrew.com/artificial-intelligence/disney-sora-openai-shutdown-259642.html Does anyone follow Cartoon Brew? I dropped off them a while back. How are they these days? Esp on LLMs and animation? #Animation #Disney #NoAI

@Scofisticated@socel.net ugh. Yeah I kinda just follow their bot here for news. The Disney Sora stuff is nuts. Walmart just announced AI doesn't help enough or work well enough. Not looking good for the AI bubble. And that doc that's coming out about how it's a Ponzi scheme. Etc.

@Scofisticated@socel.net to run a full model like Chatgpt you need high end PC-Build. I can’t imagine what these video models require and on top of the power usage. All to generate things with little actual control. Which already have mixed reception and sentiments. It’s really a novelty at best. And realistically can’t work off an ad based model, in my opinion. I don’t think it’s the end of Generative AI but it’s definitely the cracks we’ve been hoping for in this bubble.
