hearing rumors that it’s musician’s day. rather than trying to sell you one of my albums, this seems like a great excuse to do something i’ve wanted to do for a while now - talk about my album art. ‘cause while i’ve commissioned a couple of them, i’ve done quite a few myself and i guess my hope is that talking through the process maybe convinces one person to get a little messy and not be afraid to just try something instead of typing ‘hey rip off an album cover that i like’ into a little box.

‘generational glitch’ is a single half-hour piece built around glitched audio from an mp3 cd player. i play a lot with jpeg glitch art, so it only seemed fitting to do that here. here’s the initial photo and two intermediate steps; i don’t have png renders of these handy so there’s a good chance they’ll show up broken. i do all my jpeg glitchery by hand in bvi, using xnview to preview and do lossless transforms, but there are dedicated tools out there as well. it’s a gimmick, but a simple one.

@brhfl People should still buy one (or more) of your albums, though. 😺
