It's hard to honestly rate House on Haunted Hill. It's the origin of a lot of the spooky ghost stories, Scooby Doo, vat of acid gags. Vincent Price is just the best. Carol Ohmart got a criminally underused career. William Castle movies are always fun but kinda crap, this is much better than his usual.

And now, Roger Corman tries to do Edgar Allan Poe! Which sorta works sometimes. I'm named for an actor he used in several, but alas not this one. Vincent Price is so badly miscast in this. Young Jack Nicholson or Mark Damon would be so much better. Also, this film's like everything I despise about the English aristocracy. Uuuugh. Entitled loud assholes, fox chases. "Breeding". I'm glad they're all doomed here. Just strangle any girl who comes in. #monsterdon #tombOfLigeia1964
