And now, Roger Corman tries to do Edgar Allan Poe! Which sorta works sometimes. I'm named for an actor he used in several, but alas not this one.
Vincent Price is so badly miscast in this. Young Jack Nicholson or Mark Damon would be so much better.
Also, this film's like everything I despise about the English aristocracy. Uuuugh. Entitled loud assholes, fox chases. "Breeding". I'm glad they're all doomed here.
Just strangle any girl who comes in.

I'm so bored. Occasional spooky architecture doesn't make up for lack of plot. Mesmerism as mind control magic, but that still goes on today, I just rewatched an X-Files with that. Dream sequences with vaseline & gauze over the lens. I prefer David Lynch's way of Dutch camera angling, but otherwise SHARP dreams. Wait, are there maids?
