I know it's a meme at this point but I love how different shutting down Linux is when compared to Windows. With Linux I hit "Shutdown" and it's immediately dead. Like no hesitation, it throws itself off the cliff. With Windows it's a soft suggestion, like "sure, I'll think on it." then passively encourages other apps to close, which they may or may not do. "Oh well, this app didn't want to close. I give up". Then later "hi, I need another 30 minutes, I have updates". Then after it shuts down it turns itself back on. "Hi, I'm done updating!" Like bro why are you still here, I shut you down. #linux #linux_mint

  • @plym@vmst.io That was actually my first "woah" moment when I first installed Linux back 3 years ago. 😁 I hit shutdown and it goes off in literally 2 seconds. On windows it literally took 5-10 minutes sometimes, without any info on the screen wtf is happening.
