Looking for experiences of before/after with window insulating film - especially if you've used EcoLux 70 Solar Gard.
The data rates pretty well compared to double-glazing especially for the price. I get it would cut incoming radiative heat in summer, and keep more warmth in in winter, and these are good.
I'm more nervous about:
* it would also obviously cut incoming radiative heat in winter, and my big bay window is *glorious* to sit in on a sunny winter morning so that would be a bit sad
* I'd presume this would also mean less good sunlight for the houseplants?
* my windows consist of lots of panes in an aluminium frame and the person who came to quote didn't really talk about how great a role that frame would be playing in heat transfer especially outgoing so I don't know how much that would limit the effectiveness of the film.
