That’s still not a solution for some.
I for one still won’t open videos that way to not link my IP/client with contents I am interested in.
NewPipe is strictly limited to music.
Piped is for watching stuff.

Don’t expose your real IP, keep a VPN on all the time and not only when you have traffic you want to mask. NewPipe definitely does play video. I have it installed and it works fine
