I love that "turn one-off results into a repeatable, scalable process" is touted as a reason to use Claude for Excel: wasn't that basically the point of Excel in the first place? I don't know how much it says about Excel being terrible vs Claude being great. In any case, if it really does what's it says on the tin (minus the "thinking") it's pretty impressive. Task-specific software aid rather than "pretend to be human and reinforce people's delusions" does sound like a better business model.
