I think the other thing I can't get over with DLSS5 is the industry figures going "this is how we imagined our games would look!" The demo is running on a machine with two 5090s and your game was designed for 5 year old console hardware. I'm pretty sure if you were able to render normally across two 5090s you could get your game looking a lot better. Why are we even pretending this is an accessible option. It sounds like Nvidia is *hoping* to get the entire stack running on a single 5090.

  • Maybe the future of this is some weird add on card like Physx accelerators back in the day

  • @colincornaby @Gte My assumption is that this is still far far far away from being ready for consumers. Both in GPU power and results. Baffling they've touted it at all but it seems like they were scrambling for _literally anything_ AI related to show off on the gaming side of things as AI gains slow down.

  • @colincornaby @Gte only 2000 bucks or is that 5000 bucks?

  • @colincornaby I've only seen one screenshot and I thought the skin looked better than in the standard version. Like if it was made with ray tracing. But the face was different. So if I play a game with this on the characters faces are going to change subtly all the time?
