Public service announcement: if you're a male in your 60s and above, talk to your physician about getting a bone density screening. While routine for women, they're not routine for men. I had a bone density screening literally by accident: after fracturing four ribs in a biking crash. The test indicated significant bone loss, i.e. osteoporosis. There are medications available to help. My physician told me that she believes older men should be screened for bone loss, but it's not routine today.
