The real question is how long before they end up being banned in the west like we already see happening with Chinese phones and EVs.

EVs yes since they’re huge and hard to ship, phones maybe since they can block them at the network level, but I can’t see how they can effectively ban small peripherals like SSDs and RAM. They can try, but there are already enough packages being intentionally mislabeled by Chinese sellers to get through customs, though usually to avoid delays or import taxes the buyer has to pay as opposed to circumventing an outright ban. Especially if you intend on running Linux on it which won’t entertain any kind of approved vendor bullshit they might force Windows to implement.
