I'm doing something different tonight for my critical listening session: French music from the 80s and 90s. It's cheesy, it's lovely, it's nostalgic. I'm not sure if I first heard these songs in French class in Canada, on summer work exchange in Europe, or at university in Quebec. #music First up: Je te donne, by Jean-Jacques Goldman. 1985. A duet with some English lyrics by Michael Jones. https://open.qobuz.com/track/68069252

More Jean-Jacques Goldman. I don't know why, but he makes me think of Meatloaf and Brian Adams. Bonne idée, 1997. I think I bought this album. I still listen to it when I'm feeling nostalgic. https://open.qobuz.com/track/27362 On ira, 1997, from the same album. This is one of my all-time favourite songs. It hits the nostalgia and wanderlust just right. "On ira, on partira toi et moi, ou je n`sais pas. Il n`y a que les routes qui tremblent, les destinations se resemblent." It gets me every time. https://open.qobuz.com/track/27370
